
Emergency responders evacuated a JetBlue flight at JFK Worldwide Airport in New York Metropolis because of a small fireplace in a passenger’s laptop computer on Saturday night, officers stated.
Officers from the FAA, JetBlue and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey stated the plane was taxing to a gate at Terminal 5 when a lithium battery in a passenger’s laptop computer caught fireplace, the New York Every day Information reported.
The fireplace was shortly extinguished by the crew of JetBlue Flight 662 from Bridgetown, Barbados.
